On September 6-7 Scientific and practical conference «Frontiers in endocrinology» was hold in St. Petersburg. The conference was hosted by The Almazov National Medical research centre in cooperation with Association of Endocrinologists of Saint-Petersburg and ITMO University. The Conference topics involved such questions as:

• Current view on treatment of diabetes mellitus and its complications
• The role of the new antidiabetic drugs in diabetes mellitus therapy
• Innovations in treatment of obesity and metabolic syndrome
• Current approach to treatment of pituitary gland disorders
• Diagnostics and treatment of osteoporosis. Effects of vitamin D
• Current perspectives in diagnostics and treatment of thyroid and parathyroid glands disorders
• Hot issues of diagnostics and treatment of adrenal glands disorders
• Reproductive disorders: diagnostics and treatment
• Endocrine diseases and pregnancy
• New methods of glycemia control

In the frame of the conference the head of Terahertz Biomedicine Lab Dr. M. Khodzitsky organized the section “New methods of glycemic control” within the Young Scientists School “Selected issues of endocrinology”. Our colleague Sviatoslav Gusev represented his research project “Terahertz pulse spectroscopy in a non-invasive glucose measuring”there. Also the lab’s collaborators P. Acedo (Universidad Carlos III de Madrid, Spain), V. Vaks (Institute for Physics of Microstructures RAoS, Russia) and D. Lyubchenko (KTH Royal University, Sweden) gave invited talks.
